VALASQUEZ NAMED 2007 COBLESKILL SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNER

The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department has awarded the Hugh D. Grace Sportsmanship Award to Christian Valzsquez of Woodside, NY. The Francis Lewis High School alumnus was a two-year member of the Fighting Tiger men’s soccer program. The senior Business Administration major helped lead the Fighting Tigers back to their second NJCAA Region III Division III Tournament with the best record in program history at 15-2-1.

The senior defender played a key role in helping Cobleskill allow only nine goals in 18 contests for a goals against average of 0.50 per game on the year. During the season the Fighting Tigers recorded a program best 10 victories by shutout during the campaign.

The Hugh D. Grace Sportsmanship Award is presented annually to the senior who, by his action on the playing field, in the classroom and in the campus community, has exemplified the code of sportsman and leadership.
