FIGHTING TIGER WEEKLY RECAP 12/18/06
The Fighting Tiger men’s basketball team posted road wins over Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA on Wednesday, 57-44, and North Country Community College, 73-61, to close the semester with a 12-2 overall record. Freshman power forward Anthony Armstead, Schenectady, NY, Schenectady High School, averaged 13.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest during the week as Cobleskill returned to the NJCAA Division III National Poll occupying the number nineteen spot in the rankings. The Fighting Tigers are also tied for first place in the Mountain Valley Conference with a 4-0 mark at the break.
Senior point guard Meghan Smida, Cobleskill, NY, Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, came of the bench to lead the Fighting Tiger women’s basketball team to a 53-40 victory over visiting Onondaga Community College on Saturday with a 23 point, four rebound, two assist effort. Cobleskill currently holds the number eighteen spot in the NJCAA Division III National Poll with a 10-3 overall record including a perfect 4-0 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play tying them for first place in league play.
