FIGHTING TIGER WEEKLY RECAP 12/17/07
The Fighting Tiger men’s basketball team closed out the semester by posting a pair of lopsided victories during the week taking to the road on Tuesday to defeat Holyoke Community College in Holyoke, MA by a 78-31 margin the routing visiting North Country Community on Saturday in Region III Division III action by a 106-70 tally to close the 2007 portion of the schedule with an 11-2 overall record. Senior forward Stanley Francois, Suffern, NY, Suffern High School, posted his third double/double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds to become the thirty-fifth Fighting Tiger player to score over 500 points in his career. Cobleskill is currently 11-2 overall on the season with a 3-1 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play.
The Cobleskill women’s basketball team posted a pair of road victories during the week defeating Onondaga Community College on Tuesday in Syracuse, NY by a score of 69-65 in overtime then traveling to Queens, NY to defeat Queensborough Community College by a score of 67-51. Freshman forward Sharee Daniels, Poughkeepsie, NY, F.D. Roosevelt High School, was the team’s top scorer in both contests hitting for 15 points versus Onondaga then tossing in 12 against Queensborough Community College. The Fighting Tigers close the semester ranked tenth in the current NJCAA Division III National Poll with a 13-1 overall record and are currently tied for first place in the Mountain Valley Conference with a perfect 3-0 league record.
