FIGHTING TIGER WEEKLY RECAP 4/2/07

The SUNY Cobleskill men’s lacrosse program spit a pair of games losing a 16-1 road decision to Broome Community College of Binghamton, NY on Thursday then posting an 8-5 home victory over Jefferson Community College on Friday. Senior midfielder Tom Cunningham, Skaneateles, NY, Skaneateles High School, scored three goals in the victory for the Fighting Tigers who are currently 1-2 overall on the season.

The Fighting Tiger baseball team took three of four games over the weekend defeating visiting Holyoke Community College on Saturday by scores of 4-1 and 6-2 then splitting a road  doubleheader with the College of St. Rose Junior Varsity in Albany, NY on Sunday losing the first game 8-7 before taking the nightcap by a score of 13-5. Senior outfielder Adam Cernauskus, Cobleskill, NY, Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, hit in all four games for Cobleskill going 5-for-10 on the weekend with three doubles, five runs scored and an RBI as the Orange & Black improved their season record to 3-12 on the year.

Freshman April Ackermann, South Huntington, NY, Sullivan West High School, qualified for the 2007 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships over the weekend at the 2007 Muhlenberg College Invitational in Allentown, PA. Ackermann placed seventh in the 800 Meters with a time of 2:31.93 and ninth in the 1500 Meters with a time of 5:14.85 for the Fighting Tigers in the non-scoring meet.

Freshman Eric Graber, Troy, NY, Lansingburgh High School, qualified for the 2007 NJCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships over the weekend at the 2007 Muhlenberg College Invitational in Allentown, PA. Graber placed sixth in the 800 Meters with a national qualifying time of 1:59.58 in the non-scoring event for the Fighting Tigers.

The SUNY Cobleskill tennis team dropped their season opener to visiting Suffolk Community College from Selden, NY on Saturday by a 9-0 at the Cobleskill Tennis Complex. The loss dropped the team to 0-1 to start the season.
