FIGHTING TIGER WEEKLY RECAP 9/11/06
The SUNY Cobleskill women’s cross country team posted at score of 36 points to win their second invitational victory of the season on Friday capturing the 2006 Bruce Bridgman Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY. Freshman April Ackermann, Cochecton, NY, Sullivan West High School, won the women’s individual portion of the race covering the 3.1 mile course in a time of 20:19. The Fighting Tigers are currently ranked first in the current NJCAA Region III and NJCAA Division III National Poll.
Freshman midfielder Essaha Jallow, Bronx, NY, Dewitt Clinton High School, delivered the Fighting Tiger men’s soccer team’s solo goal in a 1-0 victory over Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday. Earlier in the week Jallow scored Cobleskill’s lone goal in a 4-1 defeat to Herkimer Community College in Herkimer, NY. On the season Cobleskill is currently 2-1 overall and 0-1 in Mountain Valley Conference play.
The Fighting Tiger women’s soccer team opened the season dropping a 12-1 decision to Herkimer Community College on Wednesday to fall to 0-1 on the season. Freshman Amy Bower, Jefferson, NY, Jefferson High School posted the lone goal for Cobleskill on the afternoon.
Senior NJCAA All-American Creig Levens, Berlin, NY, Berlin High School, place fourth for the Fighting Tiger men’s cross country team at the 2006 Bruce Bridgman Invitational hosted by Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY. Led by Levens the Fighting Tiger men placed fifth in the team standings of the meet. Cobleskill is currently ranked sixth in the current NJCAA Division III National Poll.
