ARMSTEAD NAMED FIGHTING TIGER ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that senior Anthony Armstead, Schenectady, NY, Schenectady High School, a member of the men’s basketball team has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
The 6’5” power forward scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the team’s season opening 68-34 win over Clinton Community College on the Cougars’ home court in Plattsburgh, NY, on Saturday afternoon. The Fighting Tigers, currently 1-0 on the season, are currently ranked twelfth overall in the NJCAA Division III National Poll.
The team will open the home portion of the 2007-08 season this Tuesday evening, November 6th, as part of a men’s/women’s doubleheader versus Finger Lakes Community College with the Fighting Tiger women, 1-0 overall ranked twelfth in the current NJCAA Division III National Poll, taking on the Lakers at 5:00 PM with the Cobleskill men hosting the Lakers at 7:00 PM.
