SUNY COBLESKILL MEN FALL TO HERKIMER 63-58 IN MVC PLAY
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s basketball team dropped a 63-58 decision to visiting Herkimer Community College last night in Mountain Valley Conference play before a packed house at the Iorio Gymnasium. The loss snaps a 14-game Fighting Tiger winning streak and drops the team’s record to 15-3 overall with a 6-1 mark in league play. Cobleskill had entered the contest ranked sixth in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll.
Freshman forward Stanley Francois, Valley Cottage, NY, Suffern High School, notched a double/double in the game with 15 points and 10 rebounds while freshman center/forward Vladimir Colas, Warwick, NY, Warwick High School, 12 points to go with nine rebounds to go with four blocked shots. Freshman guard Jayson Taylor, Deer Park, NY, Ossining High School, also scored in double figures for the Fighting Tigers with 11 points on the evening to go with three assists.
Cobleskill will next take to the road on Monday January 29th when they travel to Troy, NY to meet the Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College in a conference contest scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
