FIGHTING TIGER MEN FALL TO HERKIMER 74-71 IN BATTLE OF RANKED TEAMS
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s basketball dropped a hard fought 74-71 decision to Herkimer Community College on a last second thirty-foot host in a battle of nationally ranked Mountain Valley Conference powers last night at the Iorio Gymnasium in Cobleskill, NY. The Generals, who were ranked third in the NJCAA National Poll, improve to 22-5 on the season with a 10-4 record in conference play while the Fighting Tigers, who were ranked eighth in the national poll, fall to 22-4 with an 11-3 mark in conference play.
Freshman guard Nyquan Bellamy, Poughkeepsie, NY, Poughkeepsie High School, scored a career high of 25 points for the Fighting Tigers in defeat while senior forward Stanley Francois, Valley Cottage, NY, Suffern High School, added 14 to go with six rebound on the evening.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Wednesday February 20th when they travel to Utica, NY to meet the Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College for a Mountain Valley Conference contest with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM. |
