COBLESKILL LINKSTERS FINISH REGULAR SEASON OVER WEEKEND
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s golf team closed out the 2008 regular season heading to the state’s southern tier traveling to Elmira, NY on Saturday to compete in the 2008 Red Baron Invitational hosted by Corning Community College at the Mark Twain Golf Course then making the journey to Cortland, NY on Sunday for the 2008 TC3 Invitational hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College at the Elm Tree Golf Course.
On Saturday at the Red Baron Invitational, senior Andy Kincaid, Horseheads, NY, Horseheads High School, returned to his native region to fire a round of 78 good for a third place tie in a field of 62-players.The Fighting Tigers recorded a team total of 353, good for seventh place in the 12-team field. Fellow senior Adam VanBrocklyn, Lowville, NY, Lowville Academy, posted a round of 88 on the day with the team scoring rounded out by freshman Ken Mann, Milford, NY, Milford High School, who shot a round of 90 and by freshman Eric Dubainski, Smithtown, NY, Smithtown High School, who carded a round of 97 for the tournament.
On Sunday at the TC3 Invitational, the Fighting Tigers posted a team score of 333 to tie for seventh place in the 12-team field. Andy Kincaid once again had the low round of the day for the Orange & Black with a score of 78 with Ken Mann finishing with a round of 81 and Adam VanBrocklyn shooting 82. The Cobleskill scoring was rounded out by Eric Dubainski who posted a score of 92 on the day.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action at the 2008 NJCAA Region III Division III Championships hosted by Monroe Community College at the Webster Golf Club in Webster, NY on Monday May 12th and Tuesday May 13th. |
