FIGHTING TIGER LINKSTERS OPEN SEASON WITH 6TH PLACE FINISH AT BROOME COMMUNITY COLLEGE INVITATIONAL
The SUNY Cobleskill golf team braved Mother Nature on Saturday posting a team score of 337 to place sixth overall at the Broome Community College Invitational hosted by Broome Community College at the Endwell Greens Golf Club in Endwell, NY.
Under the adverse weather conditions Fighting Tiger freshman Andy Kincaid, Horseheads, NY, Horseheads High School, posted a round of 77 tying for fifth place overall in the tournament to lead the Fighting Tigers. The team’s scoring was rounded out: by freshman Josh Solon, Rome, NY, Rome Catholic High School, who shot a round of 85, senior Josh Gangaware, Lake Luzerne, NY, Hadley-Luzerne High School, with a score of 86 and senior Darren Clark, Campbell, NY, Campbell-Savona High School, who shot an 89 in his opening round of the season.
The Fighting Tigers are currently scheduled to make their annual western New York swing over the weekend: traveling on Friday April 20th to the Jamestown-Olean Invitational to be hosted at the Bartlett Country Club in Olean, NY, then on Saturday April 21st competing at the Mercyhurst Northeast College Invitational to be held at the Peek-n-Peek Country Club in Findley Lake, NY, and concluding on Sunday April 22nd with an appearance at the Jamestown Community College Invitational hosted at the Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, NY.
