FIGHTING TIGER LINKSTERS POST BEST WEEKEND OF SEASON
With the 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championships looming around the corner the SUNY Cobleskill golf team posted their most impressive week of the year closing out the regular season by placing third in a field of eight teams with a score of 331 at the Corning Community College Invitational on Saturday then finishing fourth in a field of nine teams at the Tompkins-Cortland Community College Invitational on Sunday with a total score of 314.
On Saturday at the Corning Community College Invitational, freshman Andy Kincaid, Horseheads, NY, Horseheads High School, led the team in scoring posting a round of 80 on the day while fellow freshman Adam Van Brocklin, Lowville, NY, Lowville High School, posted a round of 81. Rounding out the scoring for the Fighting Tigers were senior Josh Gangaware, Lake Luzerne, NY, Hadley-Luzerne High School, who finished the day with a round of 82 and freshman Josh Solon, Rome, NY, Rome Catholic High School, who posted a score of 88.
At the Tompkins-Cortland Community College Invitational on Sunday, senior Jordan Brown, Laurens, NY, Laurens High School, fired a score of 75 to lead the Fighting Tigers. Cobleskill also received scoring rounds from: Adam Van Brocklin who posted a 78, senior Darren Clark, Campbell, NY, Campbell-Savona High School, who fired a 79 on the day and from Josh Gangaware who closed out the Cobleskill team scoring with a round of 82.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action at the 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Ithaca, NY on Monday May 14th and Tuesday May 15th.
