FIGHTING TIGER GOLFERS PLACE 5TH AT 2007 NJCAA REGION III CHAMPIONSHIPS
The SUNY Cobleskill golf team posted a two-day total of 667 to place fifth in a field of 11 teams at the 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Ithaca, NY on Monday May 14th and Tuesday May 15th.
The Fighting Tigers were led by senior Josh Gangaware, Lake Luzerne, NY, Hadley-Luzerne High School, who earned All-Region II honors by placing tied for fifth with a score of 160 while freshman Adam Van Brocklin, Lowville, NY, Lowville High School, also earned All-NJCAA Region III Team with a score of 165 to tie for fifteenth place. Rounding out the scoring for Cobleskill was freshman Andy Kincaid, Horseheads, NY, Horseheads High School, who posted a two-day score of 170 and freshman Josh Solon, Rome, NY, Rome Catholic High School, who posted a total of 172 in the event.
Gangaware and Van Brocklin by virtue of the regional placings have now qualified individually for the 2007 NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournament to be hosted by Jamestown Community College at the Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, NY from Monday June 4th thru Friday June 8th.
