FIGHTING TIGER LINKSTERS DOMINATE PLAY AT CGCC INVITATIONAL
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s golf team made a powerful statement to open the 2005 season at the Columbia-Greene Invitational hosted by Columbia-Greene Community College at the Columbia Country Club yesterday. The four-time defending Mountain Valley Conference Champions braved the elements to beat the field by a 36 stoke margin in their quest to take the league title for the fifth consecutive season.
The Fighting Tigers were led by senior Rich Dwyer, Theresa, NY, Indian River High School, who finished second with a score of 77 and senior Matt Schulte, Oneonta, NY, Oneonta High School, who placed second with a score of 78. The Fighting Tiger scoring was rounded out by senior Dan Spano, Schenevus, NY, Schenevus High School, who placed sixth with a round of 81 and senior Shaun Marcellus, Hamilton, NY, Hamilton High School, who was seventh overall after carding an 84 on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday April 9th when they travel to the Endwell Greens Golf Club for the Broome Community College Invitational.
