FIGHTING TIGER LINKSTERS OPEN SEASON WITH 2ND PLACE FINISH AT COLUMBIA-GREENE INVITATIONAL

The SUNY Cobleskill men’s golf team opened the 2006 season by placing second at the 2006 Columbia-Greene Community College Invitational hosted by Columbia-Greene at the Columbia Country Club on Thursday. The Fighting Tigers posted a team score of 354 for the tournament to finish second place in the field.

Freshman Jordan Brown, Laurens, NY, Laurens High School, led the way for Cobleskill posting a round of 85 to place fifth overall in the tournament. Senior Darren Clark, Campbell, NY, Campbell-Savona High School, finished seventh in the event with a score of 87. The Fighting Tiger scoring was rounded out by freshman Joe Winski, Youngsville, NY, Sullivan West High School, with a round of 90 and by freshman Josh Gangaware, Lake Luzerne, NY, Hadley-Luzerne High School, who shot a round of 92.

The Fighting Tigers will next compete on Friday April 14th at the Mohawk Valley Community College Invitational at the Valley View Golf Club then make the trip to the Endwell Greens Golf Club on Saturday April 15th for the Broome Community College Invitational.
