COBLESKILL TOPS CURRENT NJCAA REGION III MEN’S GOLF RANKINGS
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s golf team is currently ranked number one in the latest NJCAA Division III Region III rankings for the third consecutive week. The Fighting Tigers recently moved into the NJCAA Division III National Poll occupying the number eight spot in the national rankings.
Leading the way for the Fighting Tigers is freshman Todd Czepiel, Booneville, NY, Adirondack High School, who is second in Region III in individual stroke average at 75.3 shots per round. Czepiel has also posted individual victories at the Broome Community College Invitational and the SUNY Cobleskill Invitational this season.
The Fighting Tigers also boast a balanced attack with freshman Seth Markley, Sauquoit, NY, Sauquoit Valley High School, holding down the region’s number five individual ranking at 79.0 shots per round and freshman Steve Cole, Cobleskill, NY, Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, ranked tenth in the regional individual rankings at 79.7 shots per round. The Cobleskill scoring is rounded out by senior NJCAA All-American Jessie Gawlik, Oakfield NY, Oakfield-Alabama High School, at 82.3 shots per round and senior Brett Seiler, South New Berlin NY, Unadilla High School, at 83.4 shots per round.
Cobleskill will next compete at the NJCAA Region III Championships hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College at the Cornell University Golf Course in Ithaca, NY from Monday May 12th thru Wednesday May 14th.
