FIGHTING TIGER LAX DROPS 10-9 OVERTIME DECISION TO JEFFERSON
Battling for their first NJCAA Region III post-season appearance since 1993 the SUNY Cobleskill men’s lacrosse team dropped a must-win 10-9 overtime decision to the Cannoneers of Jefferson Community College on Saturday at the Cobleskill Lacrosse Complex. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 6-7 overall on the season with a 4-5 mark versus NJCAA Region III opponents.
After Cobleskill missed a pair of scoring opportunities to open the overtime session, Jefferson attackman Carl Urbaniak scored with 3:12 remaining in the period to give the Cannoneers the victory.
Freshman attackman Brendan Wessman, Seaford, NY, Seaford High School, paced the Fighting Tiger offense with five goals and an assist while fellow freshman attackman Jake Hutchins, East Greenbush, NY, Columbia High School, added two goals and an assist in on the afternoon.
The Fighting Tigers will close the season on Sunday April 27th when they host the Bulldogs of Dean College in NJCAA Region III action at the Cobleskill Lacrosse Complex beginning at 2:00 PM. |
