COBLESKILL MEN’S LACROSSE DROPS 10-9 DECISION TO #10 BROOME
The SUNY Cobleskill men’s lacrosse team jumped on the NJCAA’s number ten ranked team, the Broome Community College Hornets, on Saturday afternoon at the Cobleskill Lacrosse Complex posting a 4-0 first quarter lead. However the Fighting Tigers could not hold their initial advantage and with 4:20 remaining in regulation Hornet attackman Nate Wood scored to give Broome a 10-9 advantage which turned into the eventual margin of victory for the visitors from Binghamton, NY. The loss drops the Fighting Tigers to 2-4 overall on the season while the Hornets improve their record to 5-1 on the year.
Fighting Tiger senior attackman Matt Hughes, Wallkill, NY, Wallkill High School, scored three goals on the afternoon while freshman attackman Jake Hutchins, East Greenbush, NY, Columbia High School, added two goals and an assist for the Orange & Black.
Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday April 9th when they travel to Troy, NY to face Hudson Valley Community College for a Mountain Valley Conference contest with face-off scheduled for 4:00 PM. |
