SECK NAMED NJCAA NATIONAL SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced today that SUNY Cobleskill freshman goalkeeper Abdou Seck, Bronx, NY, Dewitt Clinton High School, has been named the association’s Division III National Defensive Soccer Player-of-the-Week.
The Bronx native shut out three separate opponents last week to lead the Fighting Tigers to three victories. Seck tallied six saves in a 3-0 win home over nationally ranked Mohawk Valley Community College (Utica, NY); seven saves in a 3-0 home victory over nationally ranked Tompkins Cortland Community College (Dryden, NY); and one save in a 3-0 home win over North County Community College (Saranac Lake, NY). Seck finished the week with a 0.70 goals against average this season.
The Fighting Tiger goalkeeper celebrated his award by leading the Fighting Tigers to a 3-0 home victory over Cayuga Community College (Auburn, NY) making six saves in the contest. Cobleskill is currently 11-1 on the season and ranked tenth in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Wednesday October 11th when they host Adirondack Community College beginning at 4:30. |
