FIGHTING TIGER MEN’S SOCCER SEEDED #1 FOR NJCAA REGION III DIVISION III CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
The most successful regular season in program history, SUNY Cobleskill men’s soccer team has been seeded first for the 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament. The Fighting Tigers posted a program best 15-1 overall record for the season earning the Co-Championship of the Mountain Valley Conference with a 6-1 mark. Cobleskill is currently ranked fourth in the current NJCAA Division III National Poll, fifth in the latest NSCAA National Poll and first in the final NJCAA Region III Division III Coaches Poll of the year.
The Fighting Tigers will receive a bye in the tournament’s first round on Saturday October 20th then host the winner of number eight seeded Alfred State College and number nine Finger Lakes Community College on Tuesday October 23rd at the Cobleskill Soccer Complex with kick-off as yet to be determined the tournament’s quarterfinal round. The winner of Tuesday’s game will advance to the regional tournament’s semifinal round to be hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College in Dryden, NY on Saturday October 27th with the region’s championship game to be hosted the following day Sunday October 28th also at Tompkins-Cortland’s soccer facilities.
