MEDWINTER NAMED FIGHTING TIGER ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that freshman Steven Medwinter, St. Albans, NY, Erasmus Hall High School, a member of the men’s soccer team has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.

The versatile midfielder/defender scored the decisive goal from 19 yards out at the 60:04 mark in the team’s 2-1 victory over number two ranked Herkimer Community College on Tuesday. It was the visiting Generals first loss in Region III Division III play since September of 2002.

The Fighting Tigers are currently 4-0 overall with a perfect 1-0 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play and ranked ninth in the current NJCAA Division III National Poll.
