FIGHTING TIGER MEN’S SOCCER FALLS 1-0 IN OT TO MOHAWK VALLEY

The SUNY Cobleskill men’s soccer team dropped a hard fought 1-0 Mountain Valley Conference game in overtime to host Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, NY on Monday. The loss was the Fighting Tigers first of the season and drops their overall record to 8-1 on the year with a 4-1 mark in league play. Cobleskill had entered the contest ranked second in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll.

The contest was decided with 2:30 remaining to play in overtime when the Hawks scored on a header by forward Joel Almeida off a corner kick. The victory puts Mohawk Valley’s overall record to 7-2 on the year and puts the Hawks into first place in the Mountain Valley Conference with a 2-0 league record.

The Fighting Tigers will return to action on Wednesday September 29th when they travel to Dryden, NY to meet the Panthers of Tompkins-Cortland Community College beginning at 7:00 PM.
