Head Men’s Tennis Coach Scott Hill
Now entering his third season as the Fighting Tiger’s Head Men’s Tennis, Coach Scott Hill enters the season ready to rebuild after a successful 2007 campaign which saw Cobleskill post a 6-3 overall record and a third place finish at the NJCAA Region III Championship Tournament. In first year presiding over the program in 2006, Hill guided Cobleskill to the upper echelon of NJCAA Region III ranks leading the team to one of the best turn-around seasons in the country taking the Fighting Tigers from a 0-9 mark in 2005 to a 7-2 mark in 2006. The Fighting Tigers captured the 2006 Mountain Valley Conference Championship with a perfect record of 3-0 and placed fourth at the 2006 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament.
During his tenure with the program 10 Fighting Tiger players have earned All-Mountain Valley Conference honors while number one single Steve Weiss, Getzville, NY, captured the 2006 NJCAA Region III Division III Individual Championship earning All-NJCAA Region III Team honors. For his efforts, Hill was named the 2006 Mountain Valley Conference Coach-of-the-Year.
The Cobleskill mentor was an outstanding player during his prep years competing for Penfield High School in Rochester, NY where he was the team's captain. He was also a two-year member of Team Rochester an elite junior program during that time. Coach Hill is also the Fighting Tigers Head Women's Volleyball a position he has held since 2002 leading the Cobleskill program to Mountain Valley Conference Championships in 2005 and 2006.
Hill came to the Fighting Tigers from Springfield College in Springfield, MA where he served as an Internal/External Site Manager from 2001 thru 2003 while earning his M. Ed. in Athletic Administration in May of 2003. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY in 1995. Currently he is employed full-time by SUNY Cobleskill as a Instructor in the Department of Physical Education/Recreation & Sports Studies and Intercollegiate Athletics.
He currently lives in Richmondville, NY with his wife Siri and their daughters Maryn and Caris. In his spare time the Cobleskill coach enjoys reading, working out and is a rabid cinema fan.
