ARMSTRONG NAMED FIGHTING TIGER ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that freshman Brittany Armstrong, Schenectady, NY, Mohonasen High School, a member of the women’s outdoor track & field program has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.

The freshman multi-event performer posted a pair of NJCAA Division III National Championship Standard qualifying performances on Saturday at the 2008 Capital District Classic hosted by Union College in Schenectady, NY. Armstrong finished fifth overall in the Long Jump with a mark of 14’10 ½” to go with a fifth place finish in the Triple Jump with an effort of 31’1” for the Fighting Tigers who are currently ranked fourth in the latest NJCAA Division III National Poll.

Cobleskill will next be in action at the 2008 NJCAA Region III Division III Championships hosted by Alfred State College in Alfred, NY, on Friday May 2nd and Saturday May 3rd.
