FIGHTING TIGER INDOOR TRACK & FIELD AT CLASS OF ’32 INVITATIONAL
The SUNY Cobleskill indoor track & field program stepped up in competition on Saturday traveling to Hamilton, NY to take part in the prestigious 75th annual Class of’32 Invitational hosted by Colgate University. The Fighting Tiger men posted a ninth place finish in the meet while the Cobleskill women finished in tenth place.
Senior thrower Kyle Robinson, Canastota, NY, Canastota High School, paced the Fighting Tiger men by winning the 35 lbs Weight Throw improving on his NJCAA National Qualifying Mark and program record with a toss of 15.16 meters. Freshman jumper Kevin Almilcar, White Plains, NY, White Plains High School, also turned in a stellar meet for the Fighting Tigers finishing fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.26 meters while senior NJCAA All-American distance runner Creig Levens, Berlin, NY, Berlin High School, finished ninth in the 3000 Meters in a time of 9:41.67.
The Cobleskill women were led by freshman sprinter Regina Morgan, Brooklyn, NY, Prospect Heights High School, who placed sixth in the 200 Meters establishing a new program record in the event with a time of 27.61 seconds. The Fighting Tigers also received strong showings from senior thrower Beth Conte, Herkimer, NY, Herkimer High School, who finished eleventh in the Weight Throw with a distance of 10.25 meters and from freshman thrower Brianna Holcomb, Glens Falls, NY, Glens Falls High School, who placed twelfth in the Shot Put with an effort of 8.94 meters.
The Fighting Tigers will next travel to DeSchriver Invitational on Saturday February 3rd hosted by East Stroudsburg State University in East Stroudsburg, PA. |
