COBLESKILL INDOOR TRACK & FIELD COMPETES AT KANE INVITATIONAL
The SUNY Cobleskill indoor track & field program spent the weekend tuning up for next week’s 2007 NJCAA Region III Championships by making the trip to Ithaca, NY on Friday and Saturday to compete in the 2007 Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University.
The Fighting Tiger men continued to be paced by senior thrower Kyle Robinson, Canastota, NY, Canastota High School, who placed eighth in the 35 lbs Weight Throw with a toss of 14.70 meters while freshman jumper Kevin Amilcar, White Plains, NY, White Plains High School, placed ninth in the Long Jump with a mark of 6.40 meters and ninth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.94 meters. On the track, senior NJCAA All-American Creig Levens, Berlin, NY, Berlin High School, placed fifteenth in the 5000 Meters with a time of 16:36.68 and freshman Jeff Dufel, Fonda, NY, Fonda-Fultonville High School, placed twentieth in the 1000 Meters with a time of 2:52.38.
The Cobleskill women were led by freshman distance runner Sarah Furman, West Berne, NY, Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, who placed twenty-first in the 5000 meters with a time of 20:50.91.
The Fighting Tigers will travel to Troy, NY on Sunday February 18th for the 2007 NJCAA Region III Championships hosted at Hudson Valley Community College beginning at 3:00 PM. |
