COBLESKILL TRACK & FIELD AT DELHI MID-WEEK QUALIFYING MEET
SUNY Cobleskill track & field athletes posted three NJCAA National Championship qualifying performances on Wednesday afternoon at a non-scoring qualifying meet hosted by Delhi Tech in Delhi, NY.
Freshman distance runner April Ackermann, South Huntington, NY, Sullivan West High School, placed first in the 800 Meters with a national qualifying time of 2:33.8 then came back to meet the national qualifying mark in the 1500 Meters placing first in the event with a time of 5:19.2 for the Fighting Tiger women. The Cobleskill men were led by freshman Eric Graber, Troy, NY, Lansingburgh High School, who met the national standard in the 800 Meters by winning the event in a time of 2:02.7 on the men’s side.
Other notable performances in the event were turned in by: senior Erinn O’Rourke, South Glens Falls, NY, South Glens Falls High School, who placed first in: the Long Jump, 13’3 ¼”, the 200 Meters, 29.2 seconds, and the 400 Meters, 1:09.5, freshman jumper Kevin Amilcar, White Plains, NY, White Plains High School, who was first in: the High Jump, 5’9 ¼” and second in the Long Jump, 19’9 ½”, and by freshman Carney Harper, Cooperstown, NY, Cooperstown High School, who was first in the Discus with a mark of 99’4”.
Cobleskill also received solid efforts from: senior Brandon Gillis, Hudson, NY, Hudson High School, in the 1500 Meter, second place in 4:38.9, senior Kyle Robinson, Canastota, NY, Canastota High School, in the Shot Put, second place with a mark of 38’ 2”, senior Adam Keefe, Deposit, NY, Deposit High School, in the Triple Jump, second with mark of 37’ 9 ¼”, and second in the Javelin, 134’0”.
The Fighting Tigers will next travel to Allentown, PA to compete in the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Saturday March 31st beginning at 10:00 AM.
