JULIA-PEREZ NAMED SUNY COBLESKILL MEN’S TRACK 2005 MOST VALUABLE
Senior distance runner Jamie Julia-Perez, Amsterdam, NY, Amsterdam High School, has been named the SUNY Cobleskill men’s track & field program’s Most-Valuable-Athlete for the 2005 season. Julia-Perez was presented the award by Fighting Tiger Head Coach Brad Fichthorn at the college’s annual Athletic Awards Convocation.
The Amsterdam High School alumnus scored 14 points for the Fighting Tigers at the 2005 NJCAA Division III National Championships this season placing third in the 10,000 Meters, 34:10.03, fourth in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase, 10:11.49, and sixth in the 5000 Meters, 16:39.02. Julia-Perez also earned All-Mountain Valley Conference honors this season as a member of Cobleskill’s conference championship 3200 Meter Relay Team.
Paced by his efforts the Fighting Tigers posted their best finish at the NJCAA Men’s Championship Meet placing third with a team score of 76 points.
