GARNETT NAMED FIGHTING TIGER ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that freshman Richard Garnett, Yonkers, NY, Roosevelt High School, a member of college’s of the indoor track & field program has been named athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.

The talented middle distance/distance runner qualified for the 2008 NJCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships to be hosted by Eastern Illinois University on Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th in the 1000 Meter Run on Saturday at the 2008 Syracuse University Invitational hosted by Syracuse University at Manley Fieldhouse in Syracuse, NY. Garnett placed fifth overall in the event establishing a new program record with a time of 2:35.85.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on February 8th and 9th when they travel to Ithaca, NY for the 2008 Cornell University Open Invitational.
