JULIA NAMED FIGHTING TIGER ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK
The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that freshman Jamie Julia, Amsterdam, NY, Amsterdam High School, a member of the men’s indoor track & field team has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
Julia set the program record for the 3000 Meters at the Wesleyan University Invitational on Saturday in Middletown, CT covering the distance in a time of 9:38.85. The Amsterdam High School alumnus has been an integral of the Fighting Tiger running program this season earning NJCAA Second Team All-American honors this fall at the NJCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.”
“What excites me about Jamie is he has the ability to be good at a number of distances because of his great athletic ability and intensity. This young man loves to compete and is never satisfied,” said Fighting Tiger Head Track & Field Coach Brad Fitchtorn.
The Fighting Tigers next travel to the Colgate University Class of ’32 Invitational in Hamilton, NY on Saturday February 7th. |
