Physical Education, Recreation and Sports Studies

The Sport, Movement and Exercise Studies curriculum is designed to provide a high quality educational experience focusing on the study of sport, movement, and exercise. The course of study strives to advance knowledge while promoting leadership and organizational skills in those diverse yet interrelated academic areas through instruction, internships and service.  The program prepares students for the field of Physical Education and Sports Management with opportunities for additional academic preparation in a wide range of allied field such as Athletic Training, Recreation, Corporate Fitness, Coaching, Sports Communication and Pedagogy.
 
  • Complete your New York State Coaching Certificate.
  • Earn an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts and Science and have the flexibility to transfer into a Bachelors Program.
  • Learn from experienced faculty (coaches, Certified Athletic Trainers, athletics administrators) small classroom settings,
  • Matriculate into a program that currently has articulation agreements with SUNY Cortland, SUNY Brockport, Sage College and Castleton State
  • Provide a seemless transition into SUNY Cobleskill's own Sports Management Minor within the college's Bachelors of Business Administration Sports Management Minor program.

Sports Management Minor
B.B.A. Business Administration
 
The Sports Management curriculum is designed to provide a high quality educational experience focusing on the principles and practices of the industry.
The curriculum blends a sampling of Liberal Arts courses with additional emphasis on core business classes, which are augmented by courses in sport and exercise.
Students will receive academic instruction that will prepare them to enter the workforce or to pursue graduate studies at institutions in and out of state.
