COBLESKILL WOMEN DROP 45-36 DECISION TO VISITING MVCC
The SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball team could not make a 21-13 halftime lead stand-up as the scrappy Fighting Tigers eventually fell to the nation’s number two ranked team the Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College by a final count of 45-36 in Cobleskill, NY last night. The loss drops Cobleskill to 14-6 overall on the season with a 7-3 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play and moves the Hawks to 21-0 with a 10-0 record in league play.
Senior center Kim McMillen, Greenville, NY, Greenville High School, led the team in scoring with 12 points while senior point guard Meghan Smida, Cobleskill, NY, Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, chipped in 10 points on the evening. Senior forward Andrea Piedigrossi, Cortland, NY, Cortland High School, also added six points on the night for the Fighting Tigers.
Cobleskill returns to action on Thursday February 8th when they host Mountain Valley Conference rival Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 7:00 PM.
