REGION III DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT FIELD SET

The SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball team has been awarded the number four seed in the upcoming 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament. In all nine teams have been selected and seeded to play in the tournament beginning this Tuesday February 27th  with sub-regional play at the highest seed’s home court and concluding with the regional championship rounds hosted by Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY, beginning with quarterfinal play Friday March 2nd  through the championship game on Sunday March 4th. 

The tournament begins on Tuesday night when the number nine seeded Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College (14-16) travel to Plattsburgh, NY to meet the number eight seeded  Cougars of Clinton Community College (15-11).

In Friday’s opening session at 1:00 PM the number the one seeded Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College (25-0) will meet the winner of the Hudson Valley Community College/Clinton Community College game. Then at 3:00 PM the number four seeded Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill (22-6) will meet the number five seeded Generals of Herkimer Community College (21-7).

The Friday’s evening session, starting at 6:00 PM, the second seeded Lazers of Onondaga Community College (26-4) will be in action against the number seven seeded Lakers of Finger Lakes Community College (15-13). In the final game of the session at 8:00 PM the number three seeded Northstars of SUNY Canton (24-4) will meet the number six seeded Hornets of Broome  Community College (16-8).
