FIGHTING TIGER WOMEN LOSE 46-44 DECISION TO HERKIMER COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN NJCAA REGION III QUARTERFINALS
The SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball program ended their season on Friday afternoon by dropping a 46-44 decision to Herkimer Community College from Herkimer, NY in the quarterfinal round of the 2007 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament hosted by Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY. With the defeat the Fighting Tigers close the 2006-07 season with a 22-7 overall mark.
Trailing 23-20 at the half in the low scoring affair, the Fighting Tigers fell behind by 10 points late in the contest then staged a comeback to cut the lead to 46-44 in the game’s final seconds. However two attempts to tie the game and force overtime were unsuccessful and the 46-44 margin held up as the final margin of victory for the Generals.
Senior center Kim McMillen, Greenville, NY, Greenville High School, finished with 16 points leading the Orange & Black in the contest while senior guard Meghan Smida, Cobleskill, NY, Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, added nine points. Senior forward Kim Stahl, Scotia, NY, Scotia-Glenville High School, finished with seven points and senior guard Erinn O’Rourke, South Glens Falls, NY, South Glens Falls High School, closed out her Fighting Tiger career with six points on the afternoon.
