2008 NJCAA REGION III DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT FIELD ANNOUNCED
The SUNY Cobleskill women’s basketball team has been awarded the number four seed in the upcoming 2008 NJCAA Region III Division III Championship Tournament. In all eight teams have been selected and seeded to play in the tournament to be hosted by Tompkins-Cortland Community College in Dryden, NY, beginning with quarterfinal play on Friday February 29th through the championship game on Sunday March 2nd.
The number four seeded Fighting Tigers (24-4) will meet the number five seeded Generals of Herkimer Community College (18-11) from Herkimer, NY at 6:00 PM in quarterfinal play. Then at 8:00 PM the number one seeded Hornets of Broome Community College (27-1) from Binghamton, NY will face the number eight seeded Spartans of Cayuga Community College (14-12) from Auburn, NY.
The day’s earlier sessions feature the second seeded Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College (22-4) of Utica, NY who will meet the number seven seeded Broncos of SUNY Delhi (16-9) from Delhi, NY while the number three seeded Lakers of Finger Lakes Community College (22-5) from Canandaigua, NY will meet the number six seeded Lazers of Onondaga Community College (20-8) from Syracuse, NY.
