REGION III DIVISION III WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT FIELD SET

Ten teams have been selected and seeded to play in the NJCAA Region III Division III Women’s Basketball Championship beginning this Tuesday February 28th with sub-regional play and concluding with the regional championship rounds hosted by Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY, beginning with quarterfinal play Friday March 3rd through the championship game on Sunday March 5th. 

The tournament begins on Tuesday night when the number ten seeded Generals of Herkimer Community College (14-14) travel to Canton, NY to meet the number seven seeded North Stars of SUNY Canton (17-10). In Tuesday’s other game the number nine seeded Red Barons of Corning Community College in Corning, NY (15-11), will travel to Binghamton, NY, to meet the number eight seeded Hornets of Broome Community College (14-12).

One of Friday’s sessions in Auburn, NY will feature: the number the one seeded Hawks of Mohawk Valley Community College (28-0) versus the winner of the Broome Community College/Corning Community College game. While the number four seeded Fighting Tigers of SUNY Cobleskill (23-4) will meet the number five seeded Lakers of Finger Lakes Community College (19-11).

The other session on Friday will the host number two seeded Raiders of Fulton-Montgomery Community College (18-8), be in action against the winner of the Herkimer Community College/ SUNY Canton winner. The other game in the session will include the number three seeded tournament Lazers of Onondaga Community College (24-6) versus the number six seeded Cannoneers of Jefferson Community College (20-7).
