COBLESKILL’S GOYETTE NAMED TO ALL-MOUNTAIN VALLEY CONFERENCE SOFTBALL TEAM

The Mountain Valley Conference announced today that SUNY Cobleskill freshman centerfielder Elizabeth Goyette, Ferrisburg, VT, Vergennes Union High School, has been selected to the 2008 All-Mountain Valley Conference Softball Team by the league’s coaches.

During the season the left handed hitting speedster posted a batting average of .347 amassing 17 hits in 49 at-bats while reaching base 26 of 58 plate appearances for an on-base percentage of .448. Goyette was successful on 13-of-15 stolen base attempts leading to 12 runs scored. The Vermont native also slugged two doubles and had four RBI for the Fighting Tigers during the campaign.

Cobleskill amassed an overall season record of 7-11 on the year with a 6-6 mark in Mountain Valley Conference play.
