SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tiger Recap for the Week of December 13, 2021


The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team posted three home victories during the week to improve their overall record to 7-5 overall including a 3-0 record in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action which ties them for first place in the league's Western Division. The Fighting Tigers defeated Bryant & Stratton College on Wednesday in non-conference play by a 76-69 margin then defeated league rivals SUNY Canton on Friday 65-35 prior to beating Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday by a score of 64-52. Junior forward Anna Post, Bonvina Center, N.Y., Delaware Academy, averaged 13.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game during the week to led Cobleskill.

The Fighting Tiger men's indoor track & field team posted a score of 37 points to place seventh in a field of 12 teams at the 2021 Utica Holiday Classic hosted by Utica College at the Pioneers Todd & Jen Hutton Sports & Recreational Center on Saturday in Utica, N.Y. The team was led by first-year Eamonn Sullivan, Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Fordham Preparatory School, who won the 3000-meter run in a new program record time of 8:45.55 while placing fourth in the mile run with a time of 4:30.46.

The men's basketball team dropped three home contests during the week losing to Mount Saint Mary's College in non-league action on Tuesday 82-58 then falling in NAC action on Friday to SUNY Canton by a score of 65-63 and to Northern Vermont University-Johnson on Saturday 68-66. Senior forward Juwan Malone, Brooklyn, N.Y., Brooklyn Collegiate High School/Fulton-Montgomery Community College, led the Fighting Tigers averaging 14.0 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for the Fighting Tigers who are now 1-10 overall including a 0-3 record in league action.

First-year runner Jenna Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, was the Fighting Tiger women's indoor track & field team's top performer at the 2021 Utica Holiday Classic hosted by Utica College at the Pioneers Todd & Jen Hutton Sports & Recreational Center on Saturday in Utica, N.Y. placing eighth overall in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:54.67 and 15th overall in the mile-run in a time of 6:27.20.
