The senior swingman was the team’s top performer 2016 Sig Makofski Basketball Tournament hosted by Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. over the weekend. Costello averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists at the event while connecting on 8-of-17 shots from the field, 47.1%, and 10-of-12 from the free throw line, 83.3%, as the Fighting Tigers lost a pair of games at the event falling to host Union College in the opener by a 75-64 margin and to Eastern Connecticut State University in the consolation game 113-63. In the Union College game Costello posted his first career double/double with 20 points and 12 rebounds.
For the season the Middleburgh, N.Y. native is averaging 12.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 1.4 assists per game in five appearances while shooting 41.7% from the field and 73.1% from the free throw line.
