The SUNY Cobleskill Department of Sport & Exercise announced today that senior Alexis Hauser, Albany, N.Y., Albany High School, a member of the women’s basketball has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
The Fighting Tiger captain posted a pair of double/doubles in points and rebounds to earn all-tournament team honors at the 2012 Max Ziel Women’s Basketball Tournament hosted by SUNY Oswego in Oswego, N.Y. over the weekend. The Orange & Black lost to D’Youville College 57-50 in the tournament opener on Friday then came back to defeat SUNYIT 70-69 in the consolation game on Saturday.
Hauser had 11 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and three steals in the loss to D’Youville before scoring 14 points to go with 14 rebounds, two assists and two steals in the victory over SUNYIT including a game winning lay-up with 28 seconds left in regulation to secure the victory. As a result of her late game heroics Cobleskill is currently 1-1 overall on the season to date.
