Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department has named senior women’s basketball player Taylor Meacham (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox-Westerlo) as the Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week for the period ending December 1, 2024.
Meacham was instrumental in leading the Fighting Tigers to two non-conference victories last week, defeating SUNY Oneonta (67-44) and Union College (74-55).
In the road win against Oneonta, Meacham recorded a season-high 17 points, nine rebounds, and two assists, shooting an efficient 54.5% from the field (6-11) and 83.3% from the free-throw line (5-6). Defensively, she added two steals and consistently disrupted the Red Dragons’ offensive rhythm. Against Union College, the versatile guard contributed 12 points, five assists, two rebounds, and two blocks while shooting an impressive 57.1% from the floor (4-7).
This season, Meacham has been a standout performer, averaging 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.7 steals per game, while shooting 48.8% from the field and 40% from three-point range.
The Fighting Tigers face their toughest test yet as they travel to take on defending national champions and top-ranked New York University on Friday, December 6. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
