Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department has announced that first-year guard Kate Hadwen (Fair Haven, VT) and junior forward Rowan Morel (Manhattan, NY) have been named the Fighting Tiger Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 14, 2025.
Morel delivered a strong all-around week for the Tigers, helping lead the team to a 1-1 mark that included a second-half comeback 72-67 home win over SUNY Delhi in North Atlantic Conference action. The junior averaged 16 points, five rebounds, three steals, and 1.5 blocks while shooting 48 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range. In a narrow 67-66 loss to Castleton, Morel recorded 16 points, three rebounds, three steals, and a block, connecting on three three-pointers. He followed with another 16-point effort in the win over Delhi, adding seven rebounds, three steals, and two blocks while going 6-of-12 from the floor and knocking down four triples.
Hadwen continued her strong freshman season by playing a key role in Cobleskill’s dominant 72-42 NAC victory over SUNY Delhi, which extended the Tigers’ home winning streak to 29 games. The rookie guard finished with 13 points, four assists, three rebounds, and three steals, shooting an efficient 5-for-10 from the field and 2-for-4 from beyond the arc.
