The SUNY Cobleskill Department of Sport & Exercise announced today that sophomore Emily Bannister, Kent, N.Y., Albion High School, a member of the women’s soccer program has been named the department’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
The sophomore midfielder/forward had two goals and an assist as the Fighting Tigers opened the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) season at home over the weekend defeating Wilson College on Saturday by a 3-2 margin before falling on Sunday to the College of Saint Elizabeth by a score of 3-1.
The Fighting Tigers are currently 1-3 overall on the season with a 1-1 record in NEAC play and will next be in action on Tuesday September 11 when they travel to Bennington, Vt., to face the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont College in non-conference action beginning at 4:00 p.m.
