Head Track & Field Coach Zach Hasking II

Zach Haskin

Zach Haskin, a former Fighting Tiger All-American in the heptathlon, enters his fourth season as Head Coach of SUNY Cobleskill’s Women’s and Men’s Track & Field programs. Originally appointed as interim head coach in 2020-21, Haskin was officially promoted the following season. At age 24, he became one of the youngest head track & field coaches in the nation and is the ninth coach in program history.

Under Haskin's leadership, Cobleskill's track & field program has thrived. The team has produced two NCAA National Championship qualifiers, 32 NCAA Regional qualifiers, one NCAA Regional Champion, five top-8 finishers at the NCAA Regional meet, 22 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) champions, and eight NAC meet record holders. In addition, 21 school records have been broken by Cobleskill athletes during his tenure.

In the 2024 outdoor season, Haskin coached 13 All-NAC selections, including seven NAC champions. Five of his athletes qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships (AARTFC), while four athletes met the AARTFC qualifying mark during the indoor season. Six student-athletes were also named to the All-NAC Academic Team for their academic achievements.

Since joining Cobleskill, Coach Haskin has overseen 13 student-athletes who set new program records, along with numerous all-conference selections, NAC champions, and academic honorees. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Coach for the Women’s and Men’s Cross Country teams from 2021-2022.

A 2019 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill with a bachelor’s degree in Communications Technology, Haskin holds a New York State High School Coaching Certification. He served as an assistant coach at Hartwick College in 2020, where he specialized in sprints, jumps, and hurdles.

As a student-athlete at Cobleskill, Haskin was named the Male Athlete of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He achieved NCAA All-American honors in the heptathlon in 2019 and qualified for the national championships in both the indoor heptathlon and outdoor decathlon during his career.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Haskin holds a master’s degree in Fitness & Wellness from SUNY Plattsburgh and serves as Cobleskill’s head strength and conditioning coach.
