Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's swimming & diving team made a powerful statement to the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) on Saturday afternoon as the defending league champions posted a 174-24 victory over visiting Cazenovia College at the Bouck Hall winning 11-of-12 individual events and both relays on the day. With the decisive victory the Fighting Tigers improve to 3-2 versus head-to-head competition on the year.
Freshman
Sam Datri, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, and sophomore
Anthony McGorsik, East Hampton, N.Y., East Hampton High School, led the way for the Orange & Black each winning three events. Datri won the one-meter diving with a total of 268.90 points while taking the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:10.24 and the 50-yard breaststroke in 31.49 seconds while McGorsik won the 100-yard backstroke 1:01.48, the 200-yard freestyle in 2:01.04 and the 50-yard butterfly in 27.58 seconds.
Cobleskill also received double wins from sophomore
Will Timony, Warwick, N.Y., Warwick High School, who took the 50-yard backstroke in 27.48 seconds and the 100-yard individual medley in 1:00.00 and from freshman
Mike Girolamo, Waverly, N.Y., Waverly High School, who won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.66 seconds and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:50.59.
Senior
Chris Clark, Trumbull, Conn., Trumbull High School, was also an individual winner for the home team taking the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.48.
The Fighting Tigers will next conclude the 2015 portion of their schedule on Saturday December 5
th when they travel to Washington, D.C. for a dual meet hosted by the Bison of Gallaudet University also featuring The Express of Wells College beginning at 12:00 p.m. Â
