Wilkes-Barre, Pa.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's swimming & diving team closed out the dual meet portion of their schedule over the weekend by splitting a pair of decisions at a double dual event hosted by Wilkes University. The Fighting Tigers lost to host Wilkes University by a score of 136-86 while defeating SUNY Delhi by a 129-70 margin. With the split Cobleskill closes the season with a 6-4 record versus head-to-head competition.
Freshman Daniel Mullen, Oswego, N.Y., Mexico High School, was a multiple event winner for the Orange & Black taking the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.70 seconds and the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:55.93 while junior
Sam Datri, Ravena, N.Y., Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School, returned from the injured list to win the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:10.48 and claim one meter diving with a total of 227.15 points. Senior
Joslen Pettit, Gloversville, N.Y., Gloversville High School, was also an individual event winner at the event posting a victory in the 50-yard butterfly in 28.30 seconds.
The Fighting Tigers also posted a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay as the team of Daniel Mullen,
Sam Datri,
Joslen Pettit and junior
Mike Girolamo, Waverly, N.Y. Waverley High School, registered a winning time of 3:47.07.
Cobleskill will close out the regular season on Saturday February 3
rd when the team travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for the 2018 Vassar College Sprint Invitational hosted by Vassar College at Spartans Kresge Pool beginning at 1:00 p.m.
