Delhi, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's swimming & diving team opened the year on Saturday with a 96-77 road win over the host Broncos of SUNY Delhi. With the victory the Fighting Tigers open the season with a 1-0 mark versus head-to-head competition.
The Fighting Tigers' dynamic duo of junior Dan Mullen, Oswego, N.Y., Mexico High School, and
Zackary Boekeloo, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Home Schooled, led the team's assault as Mullen captured the: 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.07, the 100-yard freestyle in 54.68 seconds and the 50-yard freestyle in 23.99 seconds while Boekeloo won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.12, the 100-yard backstroke in 1:00.43 and the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.33.
Cobleskill also received a event wins from freshman
Zachary Walters, West Seneca, N.Y. , West Seneca High School, in the 100-yard individual medley in 1:04.08 and the 100-yard butterfly in 58.63 seconds to go with a second place finish in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:03.94.
The Orange & Black will next be in action on Saturday October 19
th when they travel to Oneonta, N.Y. for the 2019 Hartwick Relays hosted by Hartwick College with the diving portion of the competition beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by the swimming events at 1:00 p.m.
