SUNY Cobleskill Men's Swimming & Diving Tops Field at Wells College Triangular Meet

Fighting Tigers Win Wells College Triangular Meet on Saturday Afternoon


Aurora, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's swimming & diving team opened the 2022 portion of their season on Saturday outdistancing the field at a triangular meet hosted by The Express of Wells College at the home team's pool by posting a team total of 70 points to defeat both Wells and the Broncos of SUNY Delhi.

The Fighting Tigers once again were impressive in the relay events as the team of freshman Jason Halasy, Brooklyn, N.Y., Midwood High School, senior Daniel Mullen Oswego, N.Y., Mexico High School, junior Zachary Walters, West Seneca, N.Y., West Seneca High School, and junior Christoper Sypherett, Laurelton, N.Y., John Browne High School, won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:01.20 and the 800-yard freestyle relay in a time of 9:03.20.

Individually for the Orange & Black, Dan Mullen captured the 50-yard freestyle in 23.49 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 52.48 seconds while Jason Halasy won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.72 and Zach Walters recorded a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.72.

Cobleskill will return to action when they travel to Bronxville, N.Y. on Thursday January 27 for a dual meet with the Gryphons of Sarah Lawrence College beginning at 5:00 p.m.
