Bloomfield, CT: Battling through rain and tough pin placements, the SUNY Cobleskill women's golf team turned in a ninth-place finish at the 2025 Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) Championship, held April 26-27 at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course.
Leading the charge for the Tigers was junior
Emma Dreher (East Hampton, NY/The Berkshire School), who fired her way to an impressive eighth-place finish. After day one was shortened to just nine holes due to rain, Dreher carded a steady 44 before closing with an 89 (+19) on day two. Her two-day total of +28 over 27 holes was highlighted by eight pars, as she climbed five spots up the leaderboard with a gritty final round.
Sophomore player
Isabella Keilbach (Great Neck, NY/Great Neck South) posted rounds of 55 and 101 to finish 30th overall at +51, showing good touch around the greens on the demanding par-70 layout. Fellow sophomore
Lily Tobin (Kendall, NY) battled through challenging conditions to place 39th, wrapping up her championship debut with a +63 finish after rounds of 55 and 113.
The tournament also marked the first championship appearance for newcomers
Maya Cardenas-Powell (Portland, OR/Aloha) and
Baylee Kirschberg (Lindenhurst, NY), who finished 50th and 51st respectively. Cardenas-Powell recorded a +95 over par showing while Kirschberg came in at +97.
