The talented freshman led the Fighting Tigers to the championship in their season opening 2018 Fighting Tiger Short Run Invite hosted by the Orange & Black on Saturday August 25th on their campus course. VanDemortel led the team to a perfect score of 15 points to outdistance the field of three teams by placing first overall covering the 2.14 mile loop in a course record time of 10:34
