Nitchman led the Fighting Tiger women’s volleyball team to two wins in three matches during the week as the Orange & Black defeated Castleton University at home in non-league action on Thursday evening 3-0 by scores of 25-20, 25-10 and 25-12 then traveled to Marcy, N.Y. to split a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests at a conference triangular event hosted by SUNY Polytechnic Institute on Saturday losing to Penn State Berks 3-0 by scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-12 prior to defeating Penn College 3-1 by scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-15 as the 5’11” sophomore middle hitter averaged 2.22 kills, 1.33 blocks and 1.0 service aces per set for the week.
On the season the Ballston Spa, N.Y. native has averaged 1.76 kills, 0.53 total blocks, 0.45 digs and 0.33 service aces, while posting a 1.66 hitting percentage in 66 sets played in to date for the Fighting Tigers who are currently 11-10 overall on the season including a 2-5 mark in NEAC play.
